DESCRIPTION

The X250.8 amplifier is a Class AB design that runs Class A up to 25 Watts into 8 Ohms at which point it moves into Class AB. The fairly large, nicely lit blue meter on the front shows when the amp is operating in Class A and when it ultimately moves into Class AB operation. It does not have calibrations for wattage output. This eliminates any guesswork in how the amp is operating. The “(point) .8” designation represents the most recent technological refinements of the “X” series of amplifiers. These refinements include an increase in the Class A, push-pull operation designed to reduce distortion. Additionally, there are an increased number of higher power MOSFETs than in previous designs, which serve to provide increased capacity of and improve Class A operation. Amplifier with a treble that is extended but silky, a deep controlled tight bass and mids that are clear, detailed and yet have a glow and warmth in the vocals that make then sound so real.
