Two-channel, solid-state power amplifier with class A tubed input stage and MOSFET output stage. It’s a low-feedback dual-mono, dual-regulated hybrid design on hard-wired elastomer-mount circuit boards - the traces on its circuit board are gold-plated. Moscode quality goes deep; there’s no off-board speaker wiring, and just four wires per channel carry the audio signal. Moscode Maxi Caps are used, and MIT coupling caps, Edison Price Music Posts and Cardas connectors and internal wiring are all standard. The Moscode 402Au, exhibits all the best qualities you’d expect from an audiophile amplifier: deep, tightly controlled bass; open, layered, textured midrange; extended, open, sweet sounding highs, all in a stable, realistic soundstage. Specifications: Maximum output power: 200Wpc into 8 ohms (23dBW), +300Wpc into 4 ohms (21.8dBW), both channels operating. Frequency response: 5Hz–100kHz ±0.25dB, –3dB at 230kHz. Voltage gain (tube dependent): ca 30–33dB. Input impedance: 100k ohms. Noise (inputs shorted): <1mV (<–69dB ref. 2.823V into 8 ohms). Power requirements: ca 120W at idle (1A), ca 960W at full output (8A). Tube complement: choice of 6H30Pi, 6GU7, 6DJ8, 6922, 6FQ7, 5814, 7730, or 12AU7 (2 each required). Tubes supplied: two EH 6H30Pi Gold Selected, two E88CC / 6922 Gold JJ. Mono switch parallels both inputs for easy vertical bi-amping. 1 x RCA Input. |
