Despite its small chassis, the solid-state CA200 uses some of the same circuitry as the Premier 350 power amplifier and Premier 18LS preamplifier. The CA200 is not a typical integrated amplifier. Conrad-Johnson denotes the CA200 as a "control" amplifier, as it does not include an active line-stage section. The CA200 utilizes a single voltage gain stage followed by a high-current buffer / output stage. The voltage gain stage makes use of MOSFETs as amplification devices, taking advantage of their tube-like transfer signature, whereas the output stage employs bi-polar output devices, chosen for their high damping factor. With a sound that is accurate, powerful and dynamic. a true high-performance one-box solution. Specifications: Power output: 185 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Sensitivity: .32V. Input impedance: varies with level control setting, 12kOhms minimum. Phase: speaker output is phase inverted, preamp output is phase correct. (5) line-level inputs: PH/Aux1, Tuner, CD, Video and Aux2. (2) tape/external processor loops (EPL1 and EPL2/Theater), one of which can be configured as a unity-gain pass-through for home theater use. Pre-out connection. Remarks: Serviced in April 2019. |
